This event was in support of two charities one of whom was the Lowri Pugh Foundation. As was expected the retail centre at this Xmas period was busy with  packed shoppers  preparing for the festive celebration. This was the first event in support of the Foundation to be held in Swansea. It was gratifying to see so many people in the Sketty area of Swansea attending the event. The  event proved to be one of the most successful events held by the foundation charity. There were in excess of a hundred and twenty people in attendance enjoying a most convivial afternoon tea followed by an exhilarating ‘double bill ‘ fashion show. The Cardiff half marathon is an annual half marathon race held in Cardiff in October. The event was established in 2003 and is organised by the children’s charity Barnado’s. Nest Williams, a former close friend and colleague of Lowri ran in the 2015 half marathon event in Cardiff. FOLLOWING THE SUCCESSFUL GOLF CHARITY DAY AT THE VALE WE DECIDED TO REPLICATE THE DAY AT COTTRELL PARK IN 2016, WE HAD IN EXCESS OF FIFTY PEOPLE PARTICIPATING ON THE DAY .THE GOLF DINNER DURING THE LATE AFTERNOON SAW THE RAFFLE PRIZES BEING PRESENTED BY ALEX CUTHBERT AND JOSH NAVIDI . Many many thanks to NEST WILLIAMS (Lowri’s work colleague and close friend) who, despite being the mother of two little ones under 4 years of age, managed to complete the CARDIFF HALF MARATHON in 2hrs 20minutes. HOW FANTASTIC IS THAT? She also managed to raise £360 for the FOUNDATION. Diolch yn fawr Nest! Xxx

A great golfing day, for all who took part. It was well attended by over 70 people. The evening saw friends of the FOUNDATION entertain the golfers. Many thanks to EIFION PRICE and others who contributed so splendidly. The event raised £2,500 for the FOUNDATION.

The Foundation held its first formal event to launch Sefydliad Lowri Pugh (The Lowri Pugh Foundation) in October 2014. It was attended by 80 guests. A group of Lowri’s colleagues and friends organised the event in July 2013 to secure funds for her foundation. Lowri Roberts and Gwenfair Griffiths despite living very busy lives as broadcast journalists found time to organise the event that raised over four hundred pounds for the foundation. The group celebrated Santes Dwynwen in front of a packed audience at the Pontypridd Rugby Clubhouse. An evening of light entertainment saw a group, which included Dewi Pws, Sue Roderick and Dafydd Hywel perform a cornucopia of reaction, song and verse. Dafydd Hywel actor, Bon viveur and a close friend of the Pugh Family organised that the funds generated by the evening’s entertainment were to be donated to the foundation. During his book launch in 2012 Alun Wyn Bevan presented the foundation with a cheque for five hundred pounds. His book entitled ‘ Y Gemau Olympaidd’ was a special edition to celebrate the coming of the London Olympic Games in 2012. Alyn Wyn is a distinguished broadcaster, journalist, author and ghost written to several biographies. He is just as importantly, a close friend to the Pugh family.

The Smith Family in Newcastle held a coffee morning last summer where friends, neighbours and work colleagues were invited along. Sarah, Nick and their children Maia and Rory had and open house event that proved enormously successful on both a financial and social front.
